by any other name would smell as sweet...

I've started a new mission in life.
I shall have at least one bouquet/arrangement of fresh flowers every month to adorn my dining room table.
Because my dining and living rooms are open to one another, this will liven up my entire apartment.
Fresh flowers are usually considered a luxury. But I think they are a very small purchase (and sometimes do not even require a purchase if you have friends or family with gardens!) that is worth the price tag for the joy it brings to my life.
I do not need flesh flowers, but I sure do enjoy them!

So here are my monthly fresh flowers so far this year of 2011.

January:
Before I even knew I was going to start this monthly flower event, someone gave me these lovely roses.

Later in the month of January I also received this lovely single rose:

In February, this pretty bouquet of tulips took a lovely transition on my table as they went from little undeveloped buds, to fully opened beautiful flowers:

Day 5:

Day 7:

And now, in March, this lovely mixed bouquet sits atop my table:

Next month, April, is my birthday, so we'll see what lovely flowers grace my table then...

Spring is in the air...

It may still be chilly and windy outside, and there might still be snow patches on the ground, but I'm thinking spring! And with spring, comes spring fashions! I've gathered some of my top picks from across the web to share with you here:

Featured above: Anthropologie, Acrobats, Bright Lights, Campbells, Curiosity Shoppe, DKNY, Ila Handbags, Kate Spade, Monsoon, Need Supply, Neiman Marcus, Old Gold, Anna Suit, Tulle, Urban Outfitters, and Vain and Vapid

I couldn't help but include this tongue-in-cheek shirt as well:

I totally love owls myself, but you can't help but giggle at this mockery of the owl overload going on lately.

And of course, being an interior designer, I had to include these sweet new products. From left: bell jar table lamp from Blight and a sleek portable table top fireplace by Brasa.

Happy Spring!!

Love,

Welcome Fall!

So it's been a little while, eh?
I can bore you with the details of my busy working + student life, but I won't! I'll instead get straight to the fashion!

Fall is upon us! And for the past few weeks I've been gathering photos of fall fashions from different websites to share my top picks with you here! The photo above is from Forever21.

This photo below is from, believe it or not, American Eagle! I haven't actually shopped there since I was in college (the first round!) and we won't discuss exactly how long ago that was!! :|  I came upon this fun "daily looks" shot and had to include them. The key element to fall I see everywhere is LAYERING. It's usually a concept I don't indulge, because I'm such a simple person at heart. Seriously. I like to appreciate one piece of clothing at a time. But I've been slowly but surely training myself to dress in layers and I do love the look.

Photo below is another Forever21 style shot:

These baggy crotch style pants have been showing up everywhere for a while now, but for some reason they just look good in the gray sweat skinny sweatpants. Who woulda thought?!

This is a Gap fall ad:

I absolutely adore this line up from JCrew's Fall '10 line:

I usually feel Ralph Lauren is pretty "grown up" for my style, but I love the classic simplicity of their Fall '10 looks:

Tory Burch for Fall '10 is focused on streamlined colors:

And last but not least we have Vince Camuto's Fall '10 offerings, focusing on boots and bags:
